International Images (Croatia, France, Turkey, Morocco, Spain, Italy, Scotland and Tanzania)
As I paint primarily from my own travels, this is a time to immerse myself in past trips. Wax and dye fly to music I've collected and used in my home travel videos and I remember all the amazing experiences we've been so lucky to have ... and of course, plan where we should travel next!!

Venetian Collection
Back to the Queen of the Adriatic, Venice! This enchanting city has drawn us like no other and so we return, again and again, staying in different sestiere, losing ourselves amongst the calle and canals. "Yet Another Lovely Canal" speaks to our wonderment of this place, no other name seemed more appropriate! To the right is the beautiful 18th century palazzo, Ca'Rezzonico, while down the canal to the left is Campo San Barnaba, where Indiana Jones rose out of a grate into the piazza!

Croatian Collection
Croatia, such an interesting country, held and lost by so many civilizations and cultures! From the crystal clear, turquoise depths of the Adriatic rise hundreds of islands, like Hvar, Korčula and, now attached to the mainland by bridge, stunning Trogir! Everything is ancient! The Pearl of the Adriatic, Dubrovnik (right), is an astonishing, ancient city like no other (well, except Venice)! Although the massive, fortified walls weren't my focus here, the terracotta rooftops were! During the 1990's war, two out of three buildings were hit, and projectiles pierced more than 70% of the tiled roofs. "Dubrovnik's Terracotta Crown," focuses on those rooftops, both the weather worn and new!

France . Italy . Spain . Turkey . Morocco . Scotland
Travel is such an important part of our lives that I can't help but paint the gorgeous images we are so lucky to have as memories. Originally it was all about the moment, experiencing the culture, the food, the history and, of course hoping for nice weather so my photo's looked great! Now, amidst all that, I'm searching for reflections, deep shadows and bright sunlight ... potential batiks always on my mind! Spring is our preferred travel time, Spain is still green with Oleander bushes flowering, similar to Turkish and Moroccan hillsides! The French and Italian hill towns aren't quite as busy, yet still have their flower pots! Scotland, well, we're just really lucky! Having traveled here more times than I can count, in various seasons no less, we have always been blessed with sunshine (touch wood)!!
